“What?” asked Strudel, still soaking wet.

“Remember when you fell in the pond last year?” Strawberry spoke quietly.

“Yeah” said Strudel. “What about it?”

“Well” said Strawberry, “After you kissed Waffles, I told Pancake something that I thought I meant, but now I realize that I didn’t mean it.”

“What was that?” asked Strudel.

“I” Strawberry stuttered. “I said…I said that I wish you would’ve died.”

Strudel didn’t say anything. Strawberry gripped his hand tighter, both of them still dripping wet.

“All I need in my life,” Strawberry continued, “Is my friends, my dog, my family, and you.”

Strudel was deeply touched by this. They hugged , and Strawberry fell asleep in his arms.

The next day before school, Doreen and Fiona come up to Strawberry and her friends.

“What do you want now?” asked Lemonade.

“Oh honey, it’s not about you this time” said Doreen. “Strawberry, I saw you and Strudel through my window.”

“So?” said Strawberry.

“You’re a dirty whore” said Fiona.

“You’re such a loser” said Strawberry. “You don’t even know what happened."
