Memories

Let her go.

A few days later, Spunky was in his driveway smoking a cigarette. A car drove up and parked in front of his house. Two mexican boys got out of the car.

"Can I help you?" Spunky asked.

"Hey" one of them replied. "I'm Lenny. And this is Eddie. Are you Spunky?"

"Yes..." Spunky said, putting his cigarette out. "How can I help you?"

Eddie shoved him against the garage. "You can help us by giving our baby cousin Cynthia another chance" he said.

"What the hell?" Spunky said. "Cynthia and I broke up when I was 14. How the hell do you know where I live?"

"It's called the phone book" Lenny said, punching Spunky in the gut.

"Look" Spunky gasped, clutching his stomach. "Cynthia cheated on me. And I have a girlfriend, okay? So just leave me alone"

Eddie picked up a brick from the side of the driveway. "You're gonna die"  he said, smashing the brick against Spunky's head.

Spunky instantly fell to the ground.

"You killed him!" Lenny shouted in a whisper.

"No I didn't, but let's go" Eddie said, as they ran to the car and drove off.

About fifteen minute later, Muffins and Poser pulled into the development.
"Man, you should have been there" Poser was saying. "The look on her face when I gave her that ring. It was the second most beautiful moment of my life"

They pulled into their culdesac.
"Dude, why is Spunky laying in the driveway?" Poser asked, as he parked in the street.
They got out of the car.

"Dude, he's bleeding" Muffins said.

Poser noticed the brick next to Spunky. "Oh my God" he said. "Muffins, call an ambulance"
He rushed to his brother's side. "Spunky, buddy, wake up" he said, making sure he was still breathing.

"The ambulance is coming" Muffins said.

"Go get Cherry" Poser ordered.

Muffins ran next door and knocked on the door.

"I have a doorbell" Cherry said, opening the door.

"Spunky's hurt" Muffins said, panicking. "An ambulance is on its way. We just thought you might want to ride along"

Cherry shoved past Muffins out the door.
The ambulance was already there, and the EMTs were loading Spunky onto a stretcher.

the cold never bothered me anyways.
