Everybody else wandered
off, leaving Strawberry and Buster standing alone.
"This is... kinda awkward" Strawberry said, as she playfully kicked a small rock off the sidewalk.
"Yeah..." Buster looked around. "Uh, I think you're really pretty"
"Thanks"
Strawberry blushed.
They were quiet for a moment. All of a sudden, Buster asked "Can
I kiss you?"
"I thought you'd never ask" Strawberry said sweetly, and reached
up to kiss Buster.
Just then, a voice interrupted them.
"Strawberry"
Strawberry
knew that voice all too well. She turned around.
"Ch-Chester?"
"Uh, hi" said Chester. "Are you two dating?"
"Hang on, man, I've
gotta ask her out first" Buster said. He looked over at Strawberry. "Strawberry, you're beautiful. Will you go out with me?"
"I'd love to" Strawberry wrapped her arms around him.
"Oh, wow,
this is awkward" Chester said.
"Why?" asked Buster.
"Strawberry's
my ex" Chester said.
"And you haven't talked to me in HOW long?" Strawberry pointed out.
"I was coming to apologize, Strawberry" Chester said.
"Apology
accepted" Strawberry smiled. "But Chester, I'm over you, okay?"
"Wow, Chester, why
didn't you tell me about her before?" Buster asked. "Strawberry, when did you move here?"
"End
of 5th grade" Strawberry said.
"Oh, wow" said Buster. "End of 8th for me, and I've NEVER seen you
before. I would remember if I did, since you're so beautiful"
