“I suppose” said Pearl. “But be home by 11”

“Thank you so much, Pearl” Pancake said, giving her a hug. “We’re gonna steal him now”

“11!” Pearl called after them as they left.

“Thanks, Pan” said Strudel.

“Sure” said Pancake.

They walked into Pancake’s house.

“Here, Pan” said Strudel, handing her a $50 bill. “Since I didn’t get you a present”

“Aww, thanks, Strudel” said Pancake, taking the money.

“When does it start?” Strudel asked.

“6” said Pancake.

“Not if I pull a few strings and make it 5:30” said Strudel, taking out his phone.  “My mom turned my phone back on”

“What are you doing?” asked Pancake.

Strudel was already dialing.  “Hey, Virginia?” he said. “Yeah, it’s Strudel. Pancake said to come at 5:30 instead of 6. Ok. Ok, bye”

He hung up.

“Strudel, I never said that!” said Pancake.

“Said what?” said Strudel.

“For everyone to come at 5:30” said Pancake.

“Oh! You just did!” said Strudel.   “I’ll call everyone. You chicks just get ready”

“Ugh!” said Pancake.

“Hey!” said Strudel. “I gave you $50”

“Ugh, fine” said Pancake.
