The next day, Strawberry, Pancake, Orange Kiwi, Waffles, and California walked to school—without Strudel. L

There was a mob of people outside the cafeteria.

“What’s going on?” asked California.

“There’s Lemonade” said Pancake. “Lemonade!” she called.

Lemonade walked over to them.

“What’s going on?” Strawberry asked.

“They blocked off the cafeteria” Lemonade said.

“What happened?” asked California.

“I heard there was a murder” Gepetto came up, and put his arm around Lemonade.

Strawberry had a blank look on her face. “What-what if Strudel got murdered?” she said. “Maybe that’s why his mom wouldn’t let me talk to him”

Some dude came up to Strawberry.  “Strawberry?” he said. “Could you please come with me?”

“O-OK” said Strawberry, worriedly. 

He led her in through the cafeteria.

Pancake followed.

Stay out here, Miss” said the dude.

“No” said Pancake. “Strawberry is my best friend, and Strudel was practically my brother. He was my brother’s best friend”

“Alright” said the dude. “Come with me, please”
